This is difficult to unlock sometimes; if you need to get out in a hurry it could be dangerous. |

If you want hot water turn off a few radiators (ones nearest the boiler) if you want to heat the front saloon you will also need to turn off a couple of rads. We had the same system in our last Ownerships boat but did not have any problems obtaining plenty of hot water. My opinion is that the system is not balanced, it can be done quite easily using the lock shield valves, the installer should have done this. I have since spoken to John Milburn (Rodbaston builder) re: heating and ascertained the following ... 1. Engine will heat water far quicker than boiler ever will, irrespective of the number of radiators on. 2. There is a 'check' valve adjacent to the hot water tank that is set to 'bias' the heating system towards radiators, not hot water. This is because the majority of users 'cruise' and hot water is plentiful under these conditions. In conclusion, when you first put the kettle on, start the engine! (out of gear, lever pulled outwards). |
